Kristi Ueda

Kristi Ueda is the 2019-2020 Promise Institute for Human Rights Fellow, and she works with the Africa Division to cover xenophobic violence in South Africa. Prior to joining Human Rights Watch as a fellow, Kristi interned with the International Committee of the Red Cross in Jakarta and International Bridges to Justice in Geneva. She also worked with the UN Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance and provided research assistance on criminal justice to Human Rights Watch’s US Program.
