Influential Afghan Police Commander Killed

A powerful police commander in southern Afghanistan, General Abdul Raziq, who survived several Taliban attacks on his life, was killed Thursday in a shooting incident during a visit of the top U.S. general in Afghanistan.  Two American soldiers were wounded in the cross fire and a local cameraman was also killed.   General Scott Miller was visiting the Kandahar governor’s compound for a meeting with the governor and other provincial officials.
