Boycott by Palestinian journalists over use of force

NewsReporters Without Borders (RSF) condemns the use of violence against reporters covering a protest in Ramallah last week, which has led to a call by the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate for a boycott of information provided by the Palestinian Authority. This use of force by police-backed thugs in civilian dress must be investigated, RSF says. At least 17 of the journalists covering the protest in Ramallah on the evening of 13 June were roughed up by unidentified plainclothesmen working alongside Palestinian riot police.
