Nine EU countries want looser controls on spy software exports

NewsAccess Now, Amnesty International, Privacy International and Reporters Without Borders (RSF) have issued a joint statement condemning an attempt by nine European Union member countries to weaken an EU proposal to tighten controls on technology exports that can be used to spy on journalists and their sources.If adopted, the position taken by the Czech Republic, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Sweden and the United Kingdom
