The Chandler Family ask that everyone respect their position at this difficult time

The family members of Paul and Rachel Chandler, note with concern the escalation of media coverage surrounding their horrific and continuing ordeal in Somalia.

The family is working hard to secure the release of Paul and Rachel, and believes positive progress is being made.

While we wish to thank everyone for their interest and concern, many of the references to various solutions to the problem, some of which are confusing an already complex situation, are very detrimental to the dialogue that is continuing with those holding Paul and Rachel, aimed at securing their release.

We would also wish to point out that Nick Davis is not, nor ever has been representing the family interests, nor has the family any affiliation or given endorsement to any internet sites offering solutions and does not wish to encourage them, however well meaning they may be.

Again we would like to thank the media and all those who have voiced their support for Paul and Rachel and ask that everyone respects our position at this difficult time.
