ARY News television driver Aamir Liaqat received a fatal gunshot injury to the chest when police opened fire today on demonstrators staging a violent protest outside a cinema in the northern city of Peshawar against the anti-Islamic video "Innocence of Muslims." Reporters Without Borders offers its heartfelt condolences to Liaqat's family, friends and colleagues and calls for an independent investigation to determine the exact circumstances of his death, including the role of the police.
