Suicide Bomber Attacks African Union Base in Somalia

Al-Shabab militants are reported to have attacked an African Union base in the southern Somalia town of Leego. Reports say the attackers used a suicide car bomb to enter the base early Friday, and a gunfight ensued. Reuters news service reports the battle raged for at least three hours. The number of casualties was not clear. This was the latest of several reported al-Shabab attacks since the start of the holy month of Ramadan last week.
