Protests Set Stage for Global Climate Talks in Paris

Leaders from around the world have gathered in Paris for a United Nations conference aimed at reaching a new agreement on controlling carbon emissions. The opening of the two-week summit Monday follows a day of massive demonstrations in many countries, with participants urging political leaders to adopt a global environmental treaty that would reduce global warming.
