Leaders of China, Taiwan in Historic Meeting

The leaders of Taiwan and China are holding face-to-face talks for the first time in 66 years. Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou and Chinese leader Xi Jinping shook hands Saturday in Singapore, then began their meeting. Such discussions are the first since 1949, and authorities in China are predicting it will be a “major historic milestone” in the development of cross-strait relations. In Taiwan, angry protesters tried to storm parliament in Taipei as Ma left for the historic meeting....
