White US Policeman Charged with Murder after Killing Unarmed Black Man

A graphic video showing a white police officer gunning down a fleeing, unarmed black man has again cast a bright spotlight on the issue of police violence against members of minority communities in the United States. The killing of Walter Scott in the city of North Charleston in the southern U.S. state of South Carolina comes after similar incidents in Ferguson, Missouri and elsewhere in recent months. The White House has reacted to the tragedy, as VOA’s Cindy Saine reports.
