Syrian Migrants Are Latest to Try Perilous Sea Journey

Thousands of migrants, mostly from sub-Saharan Africa, are continuing to make the deadly Mediterranean Sea crossing from North Africa to Europe each year, the International Organization for Migration said. In Italy alone, more than 161,000 migrants have arrived safely since the beginning of this year, and more than 8,000 others have been rescued at sea just in November.
