Iraq High Court Rules in Favor of Prime Minister Maliki

Iraq's highest court has ruled that Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki's coalition is the largest in parliament, giving a boost to his bid to stay in the post he has held since 2006. The court issued its decision Monday, hours after Maliki announced he was filing a lawsuit against President Fouad Massoum for failing to nominate a new prime minister before a Sunday deadline.
