US Says Iraqi Insurgents Pose Mideast Threat

The United States government says it is "deeply concerned" about Tuesday’s takeover of the Iraqi city of Mosul by Islamic militants, adding that the insurgents pose a threat not just to Iraq stability but to the entire Mideast.   The U.S. State Department said American officials in Washington and Baghdad are closely tracking the advance of the breakaway al-Qaida group known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
