Nepal Halts Tibetan Anniversary Protests

Police in Nepal have arrested at least nine Tibetans as part of an increase in security for the 55th anniversary of the Tibetan uprising against Chinese rule. Authorities in Kathmandu say they detained five people who were staging a small demonstration outside the Chinese embassy. Four others were taken into custody in other areas of the Nepalese capital.
