Truce Announced as Death Toll in Ukraine Protests Rises

Ukraine's president and the leaders of anti-government protests have agreed on a truce, as the death toll from the deadliest clashes in nearly three months has risen to 28 with 287 others hospitilized.A statement on the website of President Viktor Yanukovych announced the truce, saying it is aimed at "ending the bloodshed and stabilizing the situation...in the interests of social peace."
