Chinese Mayor Fired for Corruption

Chinese media say the mayor of a major city in the eastern part of the country has been fired in the latest crackdown on corruption. The official Xinhua News Agency said Saturday that Ji Jianye - the major of Nanjing - was let go on suspicion of "serious disciplinary violations." No details were offered, but the phrase usually refers to some type of corruption.
