Reporters Without Borders is appalled to learn that Liban Abdullahi Farah, a TV reporter also known as Liban Qaran, was gunned down yesterday in Galkayo, the capital of the north-central region of Mudug. Farah, who worked for Radio SBC (Somali Broadcasting Corporation) and also for Kalsan TV, a London-based satellite TV station, was returning home at around 7 p.m. when he was shot six times in the chest and neck by three gunmen and died on the spot.
