Somalia: Alleged Rape Victim Convicted

Email Somali authorities should drop politically motivated charges against five people including a journalist and a woman who alleged she was raped by state security forces. Update: On February 5, 2013, a Mogadishu court convicted journalist Abdiaziz Abdinur Ibrahim and the woman who alleged rape by uniformed men and sentenced them both to one year in prison. The court stated the woman can defer her sentence until she is finished breastfeeding her baby. Abdiaziz Abdinur is serving his sentence at Mogadishu Central Prison.read more
