Chad: UN official highlights human rights concerns, praises readiness to address them

A senior United Nations human rights official has acknowledged that the political will exists in Chad to improve human rights, but noted that the country has a difficult task ahead, having to address problems that range from food shortages to violence against women, impunity and limited judicial capacity.
