Reporters Without Borders condemns the exceptionally severe and unjust sentence that a court in Suining, in the southwestern province of Sichuan, imposed today on the writer and human rights activist Chen Wei (陈卫) on a charge of inciting subversion of state authority in articles he posted online. The court also ordered that Chen, 42, should be deprived of his civil rights for the first two years after his release.
