1 in 4 Australians physically abused by parents: study

New research shows one in four young people have experienced physical abuse in childhood at the hands of their parents – and most commonly before the age of ten.

Our study used data from the Australian Child Maltreatment Study, focusing on 2,623 people who reported experiencing physical abuse as children. Our team has previously reported that 32% of Australians have experienced childhood physical abuse.…
