Chez les Bassaris, dans le sud du Sénégal, certains arbres, forêts et autres plantes ne sont pas de simples ressources. Ils sont aussi des lieux sacrés, liés aux esprits, aux ancêtres et à la mémoire collective. Ce lien sacré porte un nom : le Dialan ou Angap. Les règles qui encadrent l'accès et l'utilisation des éléments du paysage peuvent ainsi contribuer à préserver certaines espèces et certains espaces naturels.
