Artificial Skin That 'Breathes' Could Revolutionize Treatment

Artificial skin, used to treat burn victims and help new skin grow, has been around for decades. But it takes weeks for new blood vessels to grow on the collagen base. Until those new blood vessels can carry oxygen into the new growth site, the skin can't "breathe" so the area is vulnerable to infection. VOA's Kevin Enochs reports now a scientists in Chile has come up with some breathable artificial skin that might solve that problem.
