After 75 Years, Pearl Harbor Memories Still Raw

On December 07, 1941, Japan launched a devastating surprise attack against US forces in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt famously called it “a date that will live in infamy” and asked Congress for a Declaration of War, which drew the country into World War II. As the U.S. commemorates the 75th anniversary of the attack, VOA’s Julie Taboh looks back at Pearl Harbor through the eyes of the witnesses and survivors who remember the day vividly.
