Gut Bacteria May Lead to Parkinson’s Disease: Study

Parkinson’s disease may be linked to certain gut bacteria, according to a new study. Writing in the journal Cell, researchers at the California Institute of Technology say: “Changes in the composition of gut bacterial populations—or possibly gut bacteria themselves—are actively contributing to and may even cause the deterioration of motor skills that is the hallmark of this disease.” Parkinson’s is a neurodegenerative disease that affects some 10 million people around the world...
