As Islamic State Rolled Back, Scientists Look to Preserve Ancient Artifacts

Coalition forces fighting IS continue to battle for control of Mosul, site of the ancient city of Nineveh. Earlier this year, Syrian pro-government forces recaptured the IS-held city of Palmyra. In both places, archaeological sites of tremendous human importance have been damaged, in some cases beyond repair. But a dedicated group of scientists, armed with computers, and 3-D printers are determined to reconstruct and preserve the ancient sites and their artifacts. VOA's Kevin Enochs reports.
