WFP Halts Food Vouchers to 1.7 Million Syrian Refugees

The World Food Program has suspended a program to distribute food vouchers to Syrian refugees in five countries because of a lack of funding. The U.N. agency said Monday it needs $64 million to meet the needs of about  1.7 million refugees in December, allowing them to continue purchasing food from local vendors in Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Iraq and Egypt.
