Canadian and American Muslims sign petition in support of free speech

Canadian and American Muslims have signed a petition to support cartoonist illustrator Molly Norris author of the "Everybody Draw Muhammad Day" cartoon and "South Park" creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

Norris drew the "Everybody Draw Muhammad Day" cartoon in April 2010 in response to Comedy Central's editing of its program "South Park" and the animated show's attempts to depict Muhammad. Her cartoon provoked international controversy and Norris was forced into hiding. She had to change her identity at the FBI's urging.

The petition is titled "A Defense of Free Speech by American and Canadian Muslims".
