Reporters sans frontières (RSF) et Radio-Canada se sont associés au principal lobby pro-israélien, le Comité Québec-Israël (CQI), pour organiser un débat sur les caricatures, le 12 mars 2009.Le débat, auquel devait participer Serge Chapleau, caricaturiste à La Presse, devait être animé par François Bugingo, président et porte-parole de RSF au Canada. Il a eu lieu dans un grand hôtel du centre- ville de Montréal.
