Democratic Republic of the Congo: ICRC facilitates handover to Congolese authorities of two pilots released in North Kivu

Geneva/Kinshasa/Goma (ICRC) – The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has been facilitating the release and transfer of two pilots until now in the hands of an armed group in the North Kivu province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The civilian airline pilot, a Ukrainian national, and his co-pilot, a Congolese national, were placed in the care of the ICRC on 24 September in Walikale.
