Au lendemain de l'accord entre le gouvernement provisoire du Kirghizistan et l'ancien Président Bakaïev qui a permis à ce dernier de quitter le pays, l'Envoyé spécial de l'ONU, Jan Kubis, a estimé que le nouveau gouvernement avait besoin d'un soutien international et a affirmé que l'ONU soutiendrait les efforts pour instaurer un gouvernement plus démocratique.
