L’écrivain belge francophone Georges Simenon, auteur de 192 romans signés de son nom, dont 75 enquêtes du commissaire Maigret, ne risque guère de sombrer dans l’oubli.

Le romancier, né à Liège en 1903 et décédé à Lausanne en 1989, a traversé le XX^e siècle. Or, l’on associe volontiers ses romans aux années 1930 ou aux années 1950.
