Abdellah Taïa est né en 1973 à Rabat, au Maroc. Il vit actuellement à Paris. Il est le premier écrivain d'Afrique du Nord - et en fait du monde arabe - à déclarer ouvertement son homosexualité. En 2006, il a fait son coming out dans un article très médiatisé du magazine marocain Tel Quel. Cet article a été considéré comme scandaleux…La Conversation
