En Guinée, le RPG, parti du président Alpha Condé, lui a ouvert la voie à un troisième mandat, en lui demandant d'être son candidat à la présidentielle d'octobre. Sa candidature pourrait attiser de nouvelles tensions dans ce pays d’Afrique de l’Ouest secoué depuis plusieurs mois par une vague de protestations.
