US Stocks Fall Sharply in Friday Trading, Erasing Recent Gains

U.S. stock market indexes fell sharply in Friday's trading as investors worried about faltering growth, rising interest rates, trade tensions, and weak profit outlook for major tech companies. The S&P 500 fell 2.5 percent, the Dow was off by two percent, and NASDAQ, home to many tech stocks, plunged 3.5 percent in early trading. Key European indexes also dropped around two percent.
