UN Security Council to Discuss Worsening Israel-Palestinian Violence

The U.N. Security Council will hold an emergency meeting Friday to discuss the worsening unrest in Israel, where authorities are preparing for more major protests. The meeting, which comes at the request of council member Jordan, will take place at 11 a.m. EDT Friday (1500 UTC) and could result in a statement on the violence, diplomats say.
