D’ici 2009, le Canada aura investi 4,3 milliards de dollars pour sa mission de développement et de reconstruction en Afghanistan. Néanmoins, ce n’est pas pour ces lourdes dépenses que la majorité de la population canadienne exige le retrait des troupes mais bien pour les 76 soldats canadiens qu’y sont morts jusqu’à présent.
