Les mots-clôtures ne m’inquiètent jamais autant que lorsqu’ils deviennent des mots-matraques. La nuance est subtile, mais éminemment significative. Un mot-clôture est une maladresse, un malaise ou même un pavé dans la mare pour mettre un terme à une discussion troublante entre deux personnes qui se situent à égalité relative sur l’échelle de la position sociale. Un mot-matraque est un coup vicieux généralement porté par celui qui détient le pouvoir à celui, ou celle, qu’il veut dominer.
