Regeneration of Heart Muscle May be Possible

It has long been known that some primitive animals, such as salamanders and starfish, can regrow lost limbs and organs. Somewhere along the evolutionary path, mammals lost that ability, but experiments show that it may be possible to regain it. At the University of Pittsburgh, tiny zebrafish are helping scientists regenerate severely damaged mouse hearts. VOA’s George Putic reports.
