Some Americans Go All Out Decorating Homes for Halloween

Halloween is the spookiest day of the year in the United States with people attending costume parties, visiting haunted attractions and telling scary stories. But on October 31, Halloween is most well-known for costumed children going door-to-door in the evening, saying “trick or treat” to receive candy. Traditionally, the only decoration was a jack-o-’lantern. But now, more people than ever before are elaborately decorating their houses for Halloween. VOA’s Deborah Block has more.
