New Cambodia Party Aims to Build Political Trust in Countryside

Cambodia's main political parties are already campaigning in the countryside for votes for a commune election in June next year that is seen as a barometer for the national poll in 2018. The new Grassroots Democracy Party (GDP) is slowly gaining traction among Cambodia’s farmers, claiming to offer an inclusive “bottom up” alternative to the centralized power structures of mainstream Cambodian politics.
