For the fifth time and second year running, the 2016 Scripps National Spelling Bee ended with a tie. Two Indian-Americans, eleven-year-old Nihar Janga from Texas and thirteen-year-old Jairam Hathwar from New York were crowned co-champions after several rounds of nerve-racking moments of spelling.
