Obama to Deploy More Special Forces Troops to Syria

President Barack Obama said Monday he would approve the deployment of up to 250 more Special Forces troops in Syria to reinforce gains made against the Islamic State, but called on European allies to bear their “share of the burden.” During a speech in Germany, Obama said the U.S. forces are “not going to be leading the fight on the ground, but they will be essential” in maintaining progress made in recent months against IS forces.
