UN Reports Afghan Civilian Casualties Continue to Rise

The United Nations said the Afghan conflict has caused nearly 2,000 casualties in the first three months of this year, showing an increase of 2 percent compared to the same period last year. The number includes an increase of 11 percent in civilians wounded – 1,343 – but a decrease of 13 percent in those killed – 600.
