US Supreme Court Rejects Apple's E-books Appeal

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday rejected an appeal from Apple and left intact a ruling that the company conspired with publishers to raise the prices of electronic books. The decision paves the way for a $450-million settlement to be paid by Apple to e-book purchasers under the California firm's July 2014 agreement to settle damages in the case brought by the attorneys general of 33 states and territories, and a private class of e-book purchasers.
