Saudi Arabia Executes 47, Including Prominent Shi'ite Cleric

The Interior Ministry of Saudi Arabia on Saturday said the country executed 47 people convicted of terrorism, including a prominent Shi'ite cleric. All but two of those executed were Saudis — one was Chadian, the other Egyptian. The executions were carried out in 12 cities across the country.
