Trump Continues Poll Surge Despite Backlash Over Muslims

Republican presidential contender Donald Trump continues to surge in public opinion polls despite a furious backlash against his plan to bar Muslims from entering the United States. The latest New York Times-CBS News poll shows Trump leading the Republican presidential field with 35 percent support, far ahead of Texas Senator Ted Cruz at 16 percent and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson at 13 percent.
