US Congress Nears Passage of Temporary Spending Bill

The U.S. Senate is expected to approve a temporary spending bill Tuesday that will keep the federal government operating until mid-December, putting off yet another Republican showdown with President Barack Obama over spending priorities. Tuesday's expected vote comes after the chamber voted 77-19 Monday to advance the measure towards a final vote.
