Nearly 1 Million Affected by NE India Flooding

Flood water has inundated several districts in India's northeastern state of Assam and the situation remained grim on Sunday with many people forced to leave their homes and seek shelter in relief camps. Floods in Assam have affected close to 900,000 people in 1,841 villages of 18 districts of the state. As many as 85,000 people have taken shelter in the 214 relief camps set up by the government. The Brahmaputra River and many of its tributaries have breached their embankments...
