Looking Back: Destruction of Hurricane Katrina

In the early morning of August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina ripped into the southern coast of the United States, from Florida to Texas with winds reaching 100–140 miles per hour. The coastal areas were entirely decimated, particularly the densely populated New Orleans, Louisiana, the city that suffered the greatest human loss. Hurricane Kartina was the costliest and one of the deadliest natural disasters the United States has ever experienced.
